EMAS Projects

In the past, EMAS members have been involved with a number of archaeological projects, in particular with the Offa's Dyke project near Chepstow and the Sashes Island project near Cookham.

Both these projects were in conjunction with MEMAS, the Manchester University Extra - Mural Archaeological Society.

At the moment, there are no current projects, but if any EMAS members have suggestions for new projects, we would be very please to hear them.

There are also two major national projects that should receive the support of all EMAS members.

Both are concerned with the protection of major prehistoric monuments that are under threat.

The first threatened site is the area around Thornborough Henges. You can find out more
from the Friends of Thornborough Website.

The second threatened site is the area around the Hill of Tara.
You can get further information from the Save Tara / Skryne Valley Website and from
the Hill of Tara / M3 Motorway Litigation Information Website.

You can also use the SAVE TARA button on this page to sign the online petition.
